Istanbul Agop cymbals are handcrafted in Turkey from B20 bronze. The company was founded by Agop Tomurcuk. Agop started making cymbals at the age of 9 in the original Zildjian K factory, and went on to become Zildjian's chief cymbal-smith. In 1977 Agop partnered with Mehmet Tamdeger and they started their own cymbal company. By 1982 this had become 'Istanbul cymbals'.
