Istanbul Mehmet cymbals are handcrafted in Turkey from B20 bronze. The company was founded by Mehmet Tamdeger who learned cymbal making from the grandson of Kerope Zildjian. Mehmet worked in the Zildjian factory for many years until 1977 when he partnered with Agop Tomurcuk and they started making their own cymbals. By 1982 their company had become 'Istanbul cymbals'.
